Chasing ICE
“We as a culture are forgetting that we are actually natural organisms and that we have this very, very deep connection and contact with nature. You can’t divorce civilization from nature - we totally depend on it.”— James Balog
This documentary shows us that there are very serious changes happening to our planet, caused by us humans, and that we can still do something about it. We mustn't let psychopathic deniers (many of whom are in positions of power, politics, who rule the mass media) to delude us and distract us.

From Sexual Repression to Political Oppression - and the loss of Self

“Full sexual consciousness and a natural
regulation of sexual life mean the end of
mystical feelings of any kind. In other words,
natural sexuality is the deadly enemy of
mystical religion. The church, by making
the fight over sexuality the centre of its
dogmas and of its influence over the masses,
confirms this concept.”
― Wilhelm Reich
Apart from some nuances, I agree with Wilhelm that Sexual repression is a major deficit of our cultural, political, social and human heritage - and most importantly it is a loss of individual freedom and joy - oppression of an individual human right to exist and to express one's most primary drive - or otherwise put ** C R E A T I V I T Y **
Although Wilhelm here refers to the 'Church', the same could be said about other religions, or in fact political institutions that use sexual oppression and distortion of natural human rights as a way of meddling into people's most intimate sense of self, to cause doubt and demand submission. General observation would suggest that most political and religious establishments in the largely patriarchal world we live do use sexual repression as a political tool of oppression.
These political, cultural, social norms translate into family norms, and are impregnated into our conciousness from early on - probably as early as we discover our sense of sexuality, such as touching ourselves or exploring sexuality of the 'other'. They also work in reverse when our family re-enforced ideologies are fed back into the political, cultural, social norms, to reinforce them further.
Hence in non-theocratic regimes, such as 'democratic' or indeed totalitarian regimes, without the existence of a moral religious codes of conduct, sexual repression is imposed through other means such as media, and other educational and informative channels, which generally promote confusion and chaos regarding our sense of natural sexuality. However, it must be highlighted that in a democratic regime, there is evidently more room for open debate and subsequently a development towards sexual liberation.
In today's European 'democratic' regimes for example, we largely see the legacy of the 19th and 20th Century Church-led repression of sexuality, which is countered by equally distorted extreme forms of sexual expression such as objectification of women (and men), erotica, pornography and obsession with selfish forms of sexual gratification - which in effect is reinforcing the Church-led repression dogma, by demonstrating the grotesqueness of the bi-polar so called 'sexual liberation'.
What is marginal in the debate between conservative sexual repression and the so called modern 'sexual liberation', is the fundamental natural sexual drive, the basic human (and indeed animal) form of expression, the life-force - that if directed freely and purely - promotes equality and cohesion, through the application of sexual energy in the expression of our Love for Existence and our Joy for Life. What was once our natural birth-right (at least for most of the 2.5 million years of human history before the emergence of institutions) is today so buried and mysterious, that can only be found hidden in mystical scriptures of our ancestral knowledge base, or through strongly guarded or preserved traditions; accessible to those who search deeply, meticulously and furiously - with an added dote of luck!
Today, these truly freedom seeking individuals are probably best grouped under the 'label' of humanists, but can also be found largely in groups close to ecology and other natural sciences, as well as certain mystics and known spiritual leaders.
Needless to mention, this growing trend in humanism, spirituality and the ecological resurrection is a colossal threat to the status-quo institutions and established political orders.
